Eliminate dangerous fumes and dust produced by welding, grinding and deburring at-source with Sledge Tech's 4X6 Industrial Downdraft Table. OSHA-compliant. Learn more.
Durable and reliable, the Sledge Tech 4' X 6' Downdraft Table is designed to handle industrial duty applications. Harmful fumes, smoke and dust are captured right at the source, before they can enter your breathing space, so indoor air quality remains uncompromised. Whether you weld, grind, debur, cut, sand, finish, solder, paint or mix, the Sledge Tech 4' X 6' Downdraft Table is a versatile all-in-one solution.
The 4' X 6' Downdraft Table comes crafted with multi-stage spark arrestance baffles for added safety, along with industrial swivel casters and a push-button, reverse-pulse filter cleaning system to reduce maintenance. This downdraft table generates up to 5050 CFM of air flow powered by a 7.5 HP three-phase [230/460/575V] motor. The motor can be upgraded to 10.0 HP, generating up to 6300 CFM of air flow.
With many options and accessories available, the Sledge Tech 4' X 6' Downdraft Table can be custom built to your specific needs.
| Worksurface | 72” x 48” worksurface |
| Max air flow | Up to 6300 CFM of air flow |
| Capture face velocity | High capture face velocity (325 FPM) |
| Motor | 7.5 HP three-phase [230/460/575V] motor |
| Filter cleaning | Automatic self-cleaning system |
| Spark protection | Multi-stage spark arrestance baffling for fire prevention |
| Compliance | Compliant with OSHA guidelines for safe capture of dust, smoke and weld fumes |
Required CFM depends on the size of the work surface and the capture velocity needed for your process — heavier fume-generating work like welding typically needs more air movement per square foot than light sanding. As a general reference, our own Downdraft Tables line ranges from a 1,200 CFM Mini model up to 6,300 CFM on our largest 3'x8' and 4'x8' tables. Our team can size a table to your specific application; contact us for a recommendation.
A dry downdraft table pulls dust and fume through dry filter media, while a wet downdraft table (like our Storm series) draws air through a water bath, which captures sparks and combustible dust before they reach a filter. Wet tables are generally the safer choice for processes that generate hot sparks, aluminum or magnesium dust, or other combustible fines where a dry filter would pose an ignition risk.
A wet scrubber routes contaminated air through a water bath or spray chamber rather than dry filter media, which makes it well suited to overspray from spray painting, and to dusts that are combustible, sticky, or otherwise poor candidates for dry filtration. Our Camfil Handte Wet Scrubbers line includes Vortex, Vortex Dual, and Venturi models for different airflow and contaminant loads.
Hexavalent chromium is generated when welding or cutting stainless steel and other chromium alloys, and OSHA regulates exposure under 29 CFR 1910.1026. Source capture with a properly sized downdraft table or fume extraction system is the primary engineering control; see our Safety guide to Hexavalent Chromium for exposure limits and a fuller overview.
