Vigilex VD Domed Explosion Vent Panels are specifically designed for high negative pressure applications and installations where high psi pulse cleaning mechanisms could cause metal fatigue over time. The dome design is optimal for high vacuum filter systems where explosion relief venting is required. Typical applications include dust collector filters, cyclones, and high pressure vessels.

The VD Domed Explosion Vent Panel is pressure tested and certified in compliance with a variety of test standards. It is ideal for OEM and retrofit applications. It is easy to install with premium gaskets and flanges.

Standard burst pressure is 1.45 psi / 0.1 bar. Application specific burst pressures between 1.45 psi up to 7 psi are available for special orders.

What’s the difference between an explosion vent and an explosion isolation valve?

An explosion vent (like our Vigilex domed or flameless vent panels) is designed to relieve pressure safely to the outside of a vessel if a dust explosion occurs inside it. An explosion isolation valve (like our Vigiflap valves) is designed to stop flame and pressure from traveling through ductwork from one piece of equipment to another, preventing a secondary explosion elsewhere in the system. Most combustible-dust systems use both as part of a layered protection strategy.
